Jaywick Open
Since 2019, Sarah Cole has worked with artist Mark Storor to lead this research project, with students, staff and alumni from Central St Martins developing ideas in response to the seaside town of Jaywick, Essex. Funded by Essex County Council, we have returned annually, working with many local people and organisations, including:
Jaywick Martello Tower, Essex Peddle Power, Inclusion Ventures, Jaywick Community and Resources Centre, Sandy's Farm, Sir Martin Frobisher Academy, The Never Say Die pub, Sun Yao Chinese takeaway, Dig 4 Jaywick Community Gardens, Jaywick Bee Keeping Society, The Feel Good Choir, The Jaywick Sands Walking Group, the Environment Agency, local artist Jane Stewart, musician David Brown and many more.
