Exhibition and performance lecture for Hygiene: The Art of Public Health group show at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Site specific response generated through consultation with staff and students on the theme of spitting, culture and contagion. This work was a development of material previously investigated in collaboration with teenagers during Shout. A 45 foot long photograph was installed along walls of the canteen depicting a visual transcript of two girls in a spitting contest. On the opening night a devised performance made with PhD students invited the lecture hall audience to utilise educational tools to create a series of actions and visceral exchanges. |
