Sarah Cole is a senior lecturer on the BA (Hons) Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and Byam Shaw, University of the Arts London.

Working with both part-time and full-time students in the XD (cross-disciplinary) Pathway, Sarah Cole teaches both in the studio and in a variety of off-site situations. Her pedagogic practice is concerned with the professional and personal development of students' practice within a socio-cultural context.

Significant projects include:

  • two exhibitions devised with students in Madrid, at Gallery Los Enfuches;
  • an annual four-day intensive residency at Trinity Buoy Wharf where c.150 students simultaneously make and present new work;
  • student participation in the research programme at Gunpowder Park;
  • and collaborations with the BA Performance, Design and Practice course at CSM, leading to a public event in the Cochrane Theatre;
  • An 'Interaction' methodologies and ideologies course for Stage II students;
  • A student residency at Kettle's Yard, University of Cambridge.
